While ESSE Care does not offer cosmetic surgery on its own, we do offer the option to combine abdominoplasty and/or liposuction with planned gynecologic surgery when it’s safe and appropriate. This allows you to undergo one surgery, one anesthesia event, and one recovery, instead of separating medical healing and physical restoration into two different chapters.
What Does It Mean to Combine Abdominoplasty or Liposuction with Gynecologic Surgery?
When abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) or liposuction is combined with a necessary gynecologic surgery, it means your reproductive procedure is performed first, followed by cosmetic work done by a collaborating, board-certified plastic surgeon during the same operative session.
Abdominoplasty focuses on removing excess abdominal skin and tightening the abdominal wall, particularly when muscles have been stretched or separated. Liposuction is used to contour specific areas by removing excess fat that may persist despite lifestyle changes. Some patients choose one of these procedures; others benefit from a combination, depending on their anatomy and goals.
Because your gynecologic surgery is already being done laparoscopically or robotically, the combined plan is carefully coordinated in advance. The goal is not to rush or overload your body, but to thoughtfully align procedures so that your body only has to heal once.

Recovery and Healing Expectations
Recovery after combined gynecologic surgery and abdominoplasty or liposuction is more involved than gynecologic surgery alone, but it is also one recovery, rather than two separate ones spaced months or years apart.
Most patients stay overnight for observation. In the first couple of weeks, you can expect swelling, soreness, and fatigue. Compression garments, activity limitations, and—depending on the procedure—temporary drains may be part of your recovery plan.
Gentle walking is encouraged early, but lifting, strenuous movement, and core engagement are restricted for several weeks to protect healing tissues. Most patients return to light activity within 2–3 weeks, with continued improvement over 2–3 months.
