First Office Visit
You’ll leave your first appointment with ESSE Care feeling supported and heard.
What to Expect at Your First Visit
At ESSE Care, we prioritize a supportive and respectful environment for your healthcare journey. We are here not only to treat but to listen. Here is how your initial consultation unfolds.
You will feel at ease from the start, greeted by our care team with no rushed check-ins and no crowded waiting rooms. Whether your visit is virtual or in person, we give you time to settle in before your appointment begins.
Warm
Welcome
We build the full picture of your health. Your physician reviews your history, symptoms, timeline, and any prior care. We also review the records and imaging you’ve sent ahead of time. If something is missing or we need a closer look, we’ll let you know exactly what we need and why.
Health History &
Records Review
A gynecologic exam may be recommended, which can include a pelvic sonogram. For adolescents or patients who prefer, a transabdominal sonogram can be arranged at an imaging facility beforehand. Your comfort is our top priority during all exams, and a chaperone is always provided.
Examination
(If appropriate)
You will leave with real answers. Your physician discusses your likely diagnosis honestly, walks you through the options clearly, and shapes a plan around your goals. A written care plan is sent to you within 48 hours, so you do not need to take notes during your visit (though you are welcome to!).

Anything you want to make sure gets discussed.
Someone You Trust
We encourage you to bring a partner, family member, or close friend. Having someone in your corner matters, especially when you are processing new information about your health.
While the focus will always be on you and your story, we will give your support person time for their own questions and bring them in after your exam to review the plan together.
Choose someone you feel comfortable sharing intimate details with. They are there for you, and we will make sure the experience feels safe for everyone in the room.
No Need to
Take Notes
After your visit, we send you a written care plan with every recommendation, guideline, and next step outlined clearly. Your job is to be present. We handle the paperwork.
Additional Diagnostic Assessments
If further information is needed after your initial appointment, here is how we approach next-step diagnostics.
Ultrasound, MRI, and CT scans are performed on state-of-the-art equipment and read by our specialist team, so you receive accurate, comprehensive results before any next steps are taken.
Advanced
Imaging
Tests are chosen based on your symptoms and history, and we always consider what has already been done, so there is no unnecessary repetition. When imaging is easier for you to complete closer to home, we arrange for an expert re-read wherever it is taken.
Tailored to
Your Case
We are an out-of-pocket provider but depending on your out-of-network benefits, we can work with your insurance company to minimize out-of-pocket costs. You can check your coverage before moving forward.
