Dr. Karli Provost Goldstein and colleagues at Lenox Hill Hospital present an ASRM 2019 abstract on preoperative anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) levels in 111 women aged 19–42 undergoing laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis. The team found that women aged 27–35 with ovarian endometriomas had significantly lower AMH (2.62 vs 3.85 ng/mL, P=0.045) than age-matched women with peritoneal disease — suggesting some women with peritoneal-only endometriosis may face similar ovarian reserve challenges and could benefit from earlier fertility preservation intervention.
