We’re proud to share that Dr. Leigh Rosen, MD, has been featured in the Greenwich Moms “Meet a Mom” series—an inspiring and widely followed platform spotlighting exceptional women in the Greenwich community. This feature offers a warm and personal look into Dr. Rosen’s life as a minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon, mother, and dedicated member of the ESSE Care team.
From New York City to Cos Cob: A Surgeon, a Mother, a Neighbor
Dr. Rosen, a fellowship-trained gynecologic surgeon and proud mom to baby Grace, lives in Cos Cob with her husband Ryan (also a physician) and their two beloved dogs, Phyllis and Morty. The family has called Greenwich home for five years, enjoying both the tranquility of their neighborhood and the support of a close-knit circle of friends.
ESSE Care: Personalized, Empathetic Surgical Gynecology
Dr. Rosen shares how ESSE Care’s mission aligns with her own approach to patient care. With advanced surgical training and a background in fertility-focused gynecology, she provides care that is both technically excellent and deeply patient-centered.
“Whether someone is struggling with infertility, fibroids, or concerning symptoms, we do whatever we can to make the experience as supported and stress-free as possible,” she explains.
She also discusses how ESSE’s unique integrative model offers a more compassionate path through complex diagnoses.
A Professional Path Rooted in Empathy
Dr. Rosen trained extensively at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, completing medical school, OB/GYN residency, and a two-year fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery. She went on to practice at RMA of New York and later served as faculty at Mount Sinai’s Department of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, where she treated patients from around the world and trained future fellows.
Having experienced fertility treatment firsthand, Dr. Rosen brings rare perspective and empathy to her work. “I’ve been through it. I understand the emotions, the urgency, the fear,” she says. “My goal is to tailor care so patients feel safe, informed, and truly supported.”
Surgical Fertility Support
As part of her practice, Dr. Rosen specializes in fertility-sparing surgery, including treatment of polyps, fibroids, ovarian cysts, Asherman’s syndrome, and uterine septums. She partners closely with fertility clinics and reproductive endocrinologists to help patients optimize their chances of success.
Shifting the Culture in Women’s Health
A recurring theme in the feature is Dr. Rosen’s commitment to validating patients’ experiences—particularly those who have felt dismissed or overlooked.
“Women’s symptoms are too often minimized,” she says. “Hearing ‘thank you for listening’ or ‘you gave me my life back’ are the greatest compliments I could receive.”
Life Outside the OR
Outside of work, Dr. Rosen enjoys low-key family time, neighborhood walks with Grace and the dogs, and catching up with her close Greenwich circle. Some of her favorite local spots include Birch Bakehouse for coffee, Orienta for date night, Le Penguin for girls’ night out, and Doppio for cozy family dinners.
We are grateful to Greenwich Moms for featuring Dr. Rosen and highlighting her deep dedication to patient care, surgical excellence, and community.
