Top 5 Takeaways from the 13th Annual Health, Wellness & Lifestyle Expo 2024 in Greenwich, CT

ESSE Care & Wellness proudly participated in the 13th Annual Health, Wellness & Lifestyle Expo 2024, offering insights into endometriosis, holistic health, and self-care. Read on for highlights from the event!

On September 7, 2024, ESSE Care & Wellness participated in Connecticut’s largest health event—the 13th Annual Health, Wellness & Lifestyle Expo. Held at the scenic Harbor Point Boardwalk in Stamford, this event brought together over 120 exhibitors and 10 wellness zones, providing attendees with valuable information on health, fitness, and overall well-being.

Here are the top five takeaways from the event.

1. Painful Periods and Endometriosis Are Often Overlooked, But They Shouldn’t Be

Many women experience severe period pain but are told it is normal. At the ESSE Care booth, we emphasized that excessive pain, heavy bleeding, nausea, and fatigue during menstruation could be signs of underlying conditions like endometriosis or adenomyosis. Early diagnosis is crucial, as delayed treatment can lead to worsening symptoms and complications, including infertility. Treatment options such as excision surgery, hormonal management, and lifestyle modifications were discussed, reinforcing the importance of finding a knowledgeable provider who takes these concerns seriously.

2. A Multidisciplinary, Holistic Approach Yields the Best Health Outcomes

One of the most common questions from attendees was how different health disciplines can work together. Our team explained that integrating gynecologic care with nutrition, stress management, movement therapy, and alternative treatments like acupuncture and hypnotherapy can help manage conditions such as chronic pelvic pain and hormonal imbalances. Addressing multiple aspects of health—rather than focusing solely on symptoms—often leads to better long-term results.

3. Small Daily Wellness Habits Can Have a Big Impact

Many attendees were looking for practical, everyday solutions to improve their well-being. We provided free samples of calming essential oils and dry skin brushes, which promote relaxation and lymphatic health. Small habits such as improving hydration, getting natural morning light, prioritizing movement, and practicing breathwork can help manage stress, reduce inflammation, and improve overall energy levels. These simple actions, when done consistently, can make a meaningful difference in long-term health.

4. Community-Based Health Events Provide Essential Access to Care

The Expo featured free fitness classes, health screenings, flu shots, and educational sessions, allowing individuals to learn about and access health services in an engaging and supportive environment. Events like these are important for making health education and resources more accessible, especially for those who may not regularly visit a healthcare provider. The high level of engagement and turnout underscored the growing demand for credible, community-driven wellness initiatives.

5. Women Must Advocate for Themselves in Healthcare Settings

One of the strongest messages from the event was the importance of self-advocacy. Many women shared their frustration with having their symptoms dismissed or misunderstood. We encouraged attendees to track their symptoms, research their conditions, ask detailed questions, and seek second opinions when necessary. Finding a provider who listens, understands women’s health issues, and is committed to patient-centered care is essential for receiving the right treatment and support.

Looking Ahead

The 13th Annual Health, Wellness & Lifestyle Expo was an incredible opportunity to engage with the community, provide education, and empower individuals to take control of their health. The strong interest in endometriosis awareness, integrative care, and self-advocacy highlighted the ongoing need for better resources and support for women’s health.

At ESSE Care & Wellness, we remain committed to offering expert, compassionate, and comprehensive care that bridges advanced medical treatments with holistic wellness practices. We look forward to continuing these important conversations, expanding access to high-quality care, and participating in future events that promote education and advocacy.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, shared their stories, and took the time to learn more about our mission. We appreciate the event organizers and our fellow exhibitors for making this Expo such a valuable experience.
