Hi, I’m Dr. Leigh Rosen
Board-Certified OB/GYN & Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgeon
I’m honored to be a part of ESSE Care and Wellness, where I can provide the kind of deeply personal, compassionate surgical care I believe every patient deserves. My care philosophy is rooted in connection—I take time to hear your story, understand your journey, and tailor every step to support not just your health, but your whole experience.
I specialize in minimally invasive surgery for conditions like fibroids, polyps, Asherman’s Syndrome (uterine scar tissue), uterine septums, hydrosalpinx and more. Whether you’re preparing for surgery or searching for answers, I’m here to help you feel safe, informed, and cared for.
My Journey into Gynecologic Surgery
I was born and raised in New York City and completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania. I then returned home to train at Mount Sinai for medical school, OB/GYN residency, and a two-year fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery.
Upon graduating fellowship, I joined RMA of New York—an internationally recognized leader in reproductive medicine. It was here that my career truly took shape. Working with patients struggling with infertility, has allowed me to gain an understanding of the complexity and urgency of their needs. I am entrusted to perform surgeries that can impact someone’s ability to start a family—and I carry that responsibility with my whole heart.
After my incredible experience at RMA of New York, I returned home to Mount SInai Hospital where I joined as faculty in the department of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery. I continued to provide surgical care to patients around the world suffering from common gynecologic conditions as well as infertility. I have had the privilege of training fellows, residents, and medical students. In addition to teaching surgical technique, I always ensure that trainees learn from me; get to know the whole patient and never let your ego get in the way of providing optimal patient care.
Why I Fell in Love with Fertility Surgery
Helping someone take one step closer to parenthood through surgery is a profound privilege. Fertility patients are navigating more than just physical hurdles—they’re living through emotional, psychological, financial, and time-sensitive challenges.
I see that every month matters. Every delay adds stress. And I understand how essential it is to communicate clearly and act quickly.
What Patients Can Expect From Me
When you meet with me, I will ask you to tell your story in your own words—even though I’ve already reviewed your chart. How you got here matters. What you’ve been through matters. What you’re scared of, what you’re hopeful for, and how you like to receive information—it all matters.
I tailor each consultation to the individual. Some patients want to understand every technical detail of the surgery; others want reassurance and simplicity. I adjust accordingly. There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to healing, and I never assume what you need until I hear it from you.
Why I’m Joining ESSE Care and Wellness
From the moment I learned about ESSE, I felt an immediate connection to its mission. The emphasis on whole-person care, deep listening, and integrative support aligns perfectly with how I practice. I believe patients deserve more than a quick diagnosis and a surgical plan—they should be seen, heard, and truly cared for.
Joining ESSE gives me the opportunity to combine my surgical expertise with the kind of meaningful, individualized attention that creates lasting impact. I’m excited to be part of a team that values compassion as much as precision, and that empowers patients with thoughtful care at every step of their journey.
My Personal Lens
I know what it’s like to sit on the other side of the conversation—to navigate IVF, to manage unexpected findings like fibroids or a uterine polyp, to face decisions that feel overwhelming and deeply personal. Those experiences have shaped how I show up for my patients—with empathy, clarity, and the kind of support that goes beyond just medical facts. I understand how vulnerable one can feel throughout this process, and I’m here to make sure you dont go through it feeling alone.
